The title of today’s blog post stretches the truth a little bit, as although the yurts are definitely worth a RED ARROW (!!!) fly by and display, it’s presence wasn’t the true reason for the aerial acrobats attendance above Barry Island. The thanks and pat on the back forthat goes to the Barry Island Tourist Railway whom sponsored the show and organised the fantastic day had by many. We had a phenomenal morning watching the sun come up in order to setup the VIP area for the day, receiving Mayors, AM’s, Red arrow 10 (the conductor on the ground) and the Railways patrons!
So although the weather forecasters got the forecast wrong for the umpteenth time in about 10 days the show was fantastic as the high cloud meant that the display team had to complete plenty of low level passes! Some of the precision acrobatics attempted and completed at 400mph were truly unbelievable and made this old age twenty something feel like a little boy again! So I and the yurts are looking forward to next years event!
